Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence into the educational ecosystem has redefined teaching and learning processes, with a particular impact on the area of Language and Literature. This article aims to analyse the impact, practical applications and ethical-didactic challenges of using AI tools in this discipline, based on a systematic review of scientific literature published between 2019 and 2024. The methodology employed consisted of a documentary analysis of studies indexed in high-impact databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, selected according to criteria of relevance and academic rigour. The results show that AI enhances the development of communication skills, specifically in optimising reading comprehension, structuring written production and fostering literary creativity, while also facilitating personalised learning and real-time feedback. However, critical challenges are identified around academic integrity, the gap in teacher training and the need for critical evaluation of automated content. It is concluded that, although AI is an innovative tool with high potential to revitalise language teaching, its success depends on implementation guided by ethical and pedagogical frameworks that preserve critical thinking and the humanistic essence of literature.
